PNG files convert to JPG; JPG, WebP and AVIF files all convert to PNG. Pick an explicit "Always →" option instead if you want WebP or AVIF as the output.

The smallest files at a given quality, with transparency support. Encoding is slower and not every browser can produce AVIF output yet — Chrome and Edge currently support it, older browsers or Safari may not.

Affects JPG, WebP, and AVIF output. 92 is optimal for most uses — lower means smaller but more artefacts. Doesn't apply to PNG, which is always lossless.
